We are revisiting 'Playground Expectations' and what this means for Room 7 and the whole school.
We Are Learning To...*Remember our school value...'I CARE, We CARE - Whakaaro Pai' anywhere in the playground at playtime and lunchtime*What does 'I CARE, We CARE - Whakaaro Pai' Looks like/Feels like/Sounds like in the Playground?
We started by...*Discussing 'I CARE, We CARE - Whakaaro Pai' first and what this Value means...*Then we identified places that were 'playground areas' and then we went tolook for them...we found some more! (Scroll down to see our pictures)
*How do we know we have 'Achieved' this?*Some of our responses included...- Because we can sort out rules for games by ourselves- We don't bring small issues back into class, we have to sort them out- We don't let small issues turn into big issues- We can get on with the game and play and be friends and play fair- We follow 'I CARE' and show it- We don't 'hook' others into silly games and WE don't get hooked!
- We have looked after property and we have brought all sports equipment back into our classroom- We make sure we play in the right places properly
*Responsibility- Caring for ourselves and our friends and we actually do it- I know what caring is for others, myself, property and the environment so I will do it- It's part of being a Leader and making good Leadership decisions
*Our children brainstormed these reasons why we don't always follow 'I CARE, We Care - Whakaaro Pai'
Being too lazy
Can't be bothered
Showing off to friends
Wanting to be cool
I don't feel like it
I feel like hooking people up in silly stuff
*Effort(We haven't talked about how Effort will help us yet)
What does 'Playground' actually mean? - Where we can play- It's not out-of-bounds- We can all go and play in good areas- The playground is in a lot of places, the places where we areallowed to go and not out-of-bounds
